Marginals

Marginal pond plants are plants that grow at the waters edge in very shallow water.  These would be plants like cattail, reed and rush to name a few. These plants are popular for both their ability to absorb excess nutrients from the water, but also for their ability to add contrast and character to ponds that are mostly filled with floating plants like lilies and lotus. Marginals are very hardy plants.

Pond marginals are also sometimes referred to as bog plants because many people incorporate them into their bog filters as an additional, natural filtration. Numerous varieties of bog plants will be selected and placed into the water stream above the pond to serve as the last level of filtration for water prior to it entering back into the pond.

We offer 60 varieties of marginal/ bog plants.  They are all shipped in 4" pots via FedEx Ground
Monday through Wednesday.  Orders after Wednesday will be shipped the following Monday.  This is to prevent the likelihood of plants being stored in a warehouse over a weekend. Of course expedited shipping is available for late week orders.
